Description
Serrapeptase – a proteolytic enzyme
SERRAPEPTASE PLUS 250,000 SPU contains a proteolytic enzyme serrapeptase with high enzymatic activity. This enzyme has long been associated with natural processes, especially the breakdown of protein structures.
This is a veterinary product that is sought after for its systemic approach - acting in a broader context.
What is serrapeptase and what makes it special?
Serrapeptase (serratiopeptidase) is a natural proteolytic enzyme that breaks down proteins. It is produced by bacteria of the genus Serratia (e.g. Serratia marcescens), originally isolated from the intestines of the silkworm (Bombyx mori).
It is obtained through a controlled fermentation process, which ensures high purity and stable enzymatic activity. It belongs to the proteases – enzymes involved in the breakdown of protein structures.
Its specific feature is that it focuses primarily on structures that the organism no longer uses, while healthy tissues remain untouched (according to traditional perception).
How serrapeptase works in the body
After absorption, serrapeptase is associated with systemic action, i.e. the possibility of activity in various parts of the body.
Its enzymatic activity is described in connection with:
- by natural decomposition of dead or unnecessary protein structures
- supporting natural regulatory processes in the body
Strength 250,000 SPU – high enzymatic activity
Serrapeptase activity is expressed in SPU units (SerratioPeptidase Units), which determine its enzymatic strength.
SERRAPEPTASE PLUS contains:
- 250,000 SPU in one capsule
- 110 mg of active ingredient
A higher SPU value means higher enzymatic activity and more intense action.
This concentration is among the higher available variants and is suitable where the goal is more significant enzymatic support.
Acid-resistant capsules as a key factor
Serrapeptase is sensitive to the acidic environment of the stomach and without protection, it would be broken down before absorption.
Therefore, the product is supplied in an acid-resistant (enteric-coated) capsule that:
- protects the enzyme from stomach acid
- allows its release only in the small intestine
- supports absorption into the bloodstream
The capsule must be taken whole, without breaking.
The product is listed in the List of Veterinary Products under the number: 142-23/C
Dosage
- up to 80 kg: 1 capsule daily
- over 80 kg: 2 capsules daily (morning and evening)
