Is Lactobacillus dairy-free? Our Lactobacillus does not contain milk. Many people associate the lactobacillus strain with lactose and milk sugar. Lactobacillus is not only produced from fermented dairy products, although it is used to ferment dairy products and make cheese and yogurt. Lactobacillus is often grown on milk media, but the milk is removed during processing. Another option is to grow them on pumpkin media.

This is how we do it!

ATTENTION: not a bacterium like a bacterium, this is important, the difference is in what you actually buy, how many strains does it contain, origin, most are grown on a dairy basiswhether they are pure or with additives, whether they are truly enteric-coated and whether what the company claims is true, unfortunately, it is often just marketing. Lactobacillus bulgaricus:

Lactobacillus bulgaricus is a beneficial intestinal bacterium found in the digestive tract, referred to as intestinal flora, or microflora.

This strain of bacteria can also be found in food.

Bifidobacterium longum:

Bifidobacterium longum is a specific species of microscopic non-pathogenic bacteria that is naturally found in the gastrointestinal tract of both humans and most other animals. It is added to various foods or dietary supplements as a probiotic because it has many health benefits. It is a gram-positive, branched rod-shaped bacterium that produces lactic acid from the fermentation of sugar in the gastrointestinal tract.

Bifidobacterium longum provides many health benefits as a naturally occurring bacteria and as a probiotic. The lactic acid produced by the bacteria increases the acidity of the digestive tract, which helps inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria. It has also been shown to

Bifidobacterium longum treats constipation, reduces inflammation associated with inflammatory bowel disease, prevents high cholesterol levels and reduces the development of certain allergies, according to probiotic.org. Lactobacillus paracasei

Lactobacillus paracasei (usually abbreviated L. paracasei) is a Gram-positive, facultatively heterofermentative species of lactic acid bacteria commonly used in the fermentation of dairy products and probiotics. L. paracasei is a commensal bacterium. It is commonly found in many locations, such as the intestinal tract and mouth of humans. It can also be found in wastewater, silage, and the previously mentioned dairy products. The name refers to the morphology, a rod-shaped bacterium (bacillusshape) with a width of 2.0 to 4.0 μm and a length of 0.8 to 1.0 μm.

Lactobacillus paracasei has been identified as a bacterium with probiotic properties. L. paracasei is part of the normal human intestinal macrobiota. L. paracasei IMPC2.1 may be chemoprophylactic in gastrointestinal cells. Gastrointestinal cells are susceptible to apoptosis and cell growth from both heat-killed and viable IMPC2.1 strains. L. paracasei 8700:2 was isolated from healthy human gastrointestinal mucosa and strain 8700:2 was also found to inhibit Salmonella enterica and Helicobacter pylori, two pathogens commonly found in the gastrointestinal tract. Strain 8700:2 metabolizes oligofructose and inulin, growing rapidly on both, and producing lactic acid as the end product.

Streptococcus thermophilus:

Streptococcus thermophilus also known as Streptococcus salivarius subsp. thermophilus is a gram-positive bacterium and a fermentative facultative anaerobe of the viridans group. It tests negative for cytochrome, oxidase, and catalase, and positive for alpha-hemolytic activity. 1 thermophilus is one of the most widely used bacteria in the dairy industry. USDA statistics from 1998 showed that more than 1.02 billion kilograms of mozzarella cheese and 621 million kilograms of yogurt were produced from S. thermophilus. Although its genus Streptococcus includes some pathogenic species, the food industry considers S. thermophilus to be a safer bacterium than many other streptococcal species. In fact, yogurt and cheese that contain live cultures of S. thermophilus are considered to be beneficial to health. Live cultures of S. thermophilus make it easier for people with lactose intolerance to digest dairy products. The bacteria break down lactose, a sugar in milk that is difficult for people with lactose intolerance to digest.

Lactobacillus acidophilus

Lactobacillus acidophilus (New Latin for "acidity-loving milk-bacillus") is a species of Gram-positive bacteria in the genus Lactobacillus. L. acidophilus is a homofermentative, microaerophilic species, fermenting sugars to lactic acid. It grows readily at relatively low pH values (below pH 5.0) and has an optimal growth temperature of around 37°C (99°F). L. acidophilus is naturally found in the gastrointestinal tract and mouth of humans and animals.
It regulates the balance of intestinal flora and inhibits the proliferation of intestinal harmful microorganisms. Lactobacillus acidophilus has an antagonistic effect on pathogenic microorganisms. Lactobacillus acidophilus can secrete antibiotics (acidolin, acidophilin and laetocidon) that can antagonize intestinal pathogens.

Lactobacillus acidophilus (A) and Bifidobacterium (B) are mixed into a starter form. The intake of dairy foods containing these two kinds of live bacteria is beneficial to the digestive organs, especially for infants with gastrointestinal dysfunction and some patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction caused by long-term oral antibiotics. After consuming fermented milk containing these two kinds of live bacteria, it can quickly restore the normal balance of intestinal flora and inhibit the proliferation of spoilage bacteria, so it has good nutritional and health functions.

A third mechanism is that the body consumes more cholesterol. L. fermentum would interfere with bile salt recycling and facilitate its removal, which would increase the demand for bile salts made from cholesterol.

Lactobacillus helveticus

Lactobacillus helveticus is a lactic acid-producing bacterium of the genus Lactobacillus. L.helveticus is most commonly used in the production of American Swiss cheese and Emmental, but is also used in the production of other styles of cheese, such as Cheddar, Parmesan, Romano, provolone, and mozzarella. The primary function of the L. helveticus culture is to prevent bitterness and produce nutty flavors in the finished cheese.

Compared with other lactic acid bacteria, Lactobacillus helveticus has stronger proteolytic activity and higher polypeptide content in fermented milk products, so it has the potential ability to produce bioactive peptides. It has been confirmed that Lactobacillus helveticus can hydrolyze lactoprotein to form angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitory peptide, which is the most reported Lactobacillus in hypotension research.
